MOTIVATION TO WORKOUT IN 40 DEGREES

Yes, it’s cold out there! Let me just share with you a new way of motivating yourselves out of bed with a great attitude and energy to bear the elements

Here is the scenario:

Your alarm startles you from a deep comfy sleep. You snooze it once and then lay there realizing how cold it is out there and dreading the uncomfortableness of it. But you get up anyway saying as one bootcamper tells herself, “NO EXCUSES!” You pull yourself out of bed winning over your child-like whining and groaning. Putting on the clothes you’ve already prepared the night before and finishing up your morning routine, you are out the door. At this point, yes you are cold, but you look around and see dark stillness around you (except for the police car racing down the street with it’s multi-colored lights screaming for attention. You think to yourself… probably a rookie bored with his overnight shift and playing make-believe).

The dark stillness around you tells you that you are willing to sacrifice immediate gratification and willing to do what it takes to succeed. This is not only applicable in taking care of yourself physically but also mentally/emotionally. This is your first success of the day because you overcame and conquered the old you that would have never even attempted to fit a workout in dark early mornings. You not only have chosen to sign up for an early am bootcamp, you have followed through with a commitment and shown yourself that you have integrity. Against all uncomfortableness and against all workings of your “excuse system,” you conquer and you feel awesome. You have set yourself apart from those who act and succeed and those who do nothing as they talk about wanting to succeed.

Your excuses look very pathetic and sad when you begin to peel off layers within 10 minutes of your workout as your body heats up and you forget that it’s 40 degrees around you. That’s what happens every time doesn’t it?

Think about the difference in your attitude and your self-confidence throughout the day that you get your workout in and the days you turn the alarm off and neglect yourself. You may not be able to recall the difference so if you made it today take note, if you didn’t make it today, take note as well.

See you in SUCCESS! tomorrow in the am of the unpredictable Texas elements!
